Pier Vittorio Mannucci has won the seventy-sixth Premio Castello di Sanguinetto with I misteriosi cinque, published by Mondadori. Fabrizio Silei received the Young Readers award for Senzacuore, published by San Paolo. The result was announced at Teatro Zinetti on 18 October, with ANSA and Il Nuovo Giornale reporting the following day.

The decision belonged to 165 students from eleven schools, who also interviewed the authors. Two very different stories won over the juries: Mannucci’s speculative thriller crosses the boundary between reality and imagination, while Silei follows a teenager forced to reconsider himself. The prize therefore offers reading recommendations rooted in young people’s own discussions and responses, rather than relying solely on what adults think they should read.
