Translation becomes a meeting place at Palermo’s Festival delle Letterature Migranti

Strade presents its 23–24 October programme: schools, Virginia Woolf and a conversation between Niviaq Korneliussen and Francesca Turri.

What happens to a story when it moves between languages? Palermo’s Festival delle Letterature Migranti, running from 21 to 24 October, devotes a section to that question. On 15 October, Strade published the Lost (and Found) in Translation programme, organised in collaboration with Strade and Calibro.

On 23 October, from 9am to 1pm at the Institut Français in the Cantieri culturali alla Zisa, a translation slam for schools will explore Jacqueline Woodson’s work with Chiara Baffa. On 24 October at 5pm, a new Italian translation of Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own will be presented; at 6pm, Niviaq Korneliussen will speak with her translator Francesca Turri at Cre.Zi. Plus. The full programme reveals the work that brings stories across linguistic borders.
