Luigi Nacci’s Il tempo dei semplici, published by Einaudi, has won the fourth Il Libro della Vita prize, promoted by De Leo Fund. The ceremony took place on 17 October at Palazzo Santo Stefano in Padua. Il Nord Est reported the result, which Corriere del Veneto confirmed the following day.

The book observes ageing parents through their son’s eyes, turning family experience into a wider question about relationships and time. Its capacity to connect individual experience with the human condition reflects the spirit of the award. Raffaella Romagnolo and Marco Lodoli were the other finalists. The prize offers readers a path towards stories that explore vulnerability without reducing it to a formula, allowing everyday relationships to carry their full emotional weight.
