Julia Deck has won the 2026 Lattes Grinzane Prize with Ann d’Inghilterra, published in Italian by Adelphi in Yasmina Melaouah’s translation. The result was announced on 17 October at Alba’s Teatro G. Busca, concluding a reading process involving school juries. The sixteenth edition brings attention to a book exploring the relationship between mother and daughter, memory and the experience of care.

Organised by Fondazione Bottari Lattes, the prize connects international fiction with young readers invited to compare different works and perspectives. The closing event also welcomed Amitav Ghosh, recipient of the Special Prize. For readers seeking their next novel, the result points towards a family story in which personal experience opens onto questions shared by many.
