Adults will not be the only people deciding which stories deserve an award. Il gigante delle Langhe has announced the finalists for its twenty-fifth edition: more than 7,100 children and teenagers will read and vote for the books in its two fiction categories. The technical selection follows consideration of 137 publishing submissions.

For ages 8–10, the finalists are Il tasso e la bambina and Michele Mordilibri; for ages 11–14, Negli occhi di Giovanni. Storia di un ragazzo di Capaci and Dragonfly. La forma del vento. Cos’è un attimo, by Cosetta Zanotti and Lucia Scuderi, has already won the illustrated-book category. The 16 October announcement opens the classroom reading and discussion phase. The two fiction winners will be announced in Cortemilia on 18 March 2027.
