After Lessons in Chemistry, Bonnie Garmus changes setting and takes readers inside a poetry magazine. Peck & Peck was published in the United States on 13 October 2026 by Scribner, according to the publisher’s official page. Its protagonist, Batter Gray, is a young man who finds work at the New York journal and becomes caught between the two brothers running it.

In an interview published that day by Literary Hub, Garmus explains how reading a poem every day helped the novel take shape. Batter’s coming-of-age story meets conflicts between originality and conformity, vocation and financial security. It is a new release to follow in its American edition, without confusing that publication date with an announcement of an Italian edition.
